Athletic Eligibility

All students must have a 2.0 grade point average to participate in co-curricular activities. The grade point average is based upon the previous term grades in all courses, including 8th grade for 9th grade participation. Athletes must maintain a 2.0 grade point average each quarter to remain eligible, in accordance with C.I.F. and Conejo Valley Unified School District rules. The following must be completed prior to participation:

  • Athletic information forms, including a physical exam.
  • Insurance - C.I.F. or acceptable family health coverage must be documented.
  • District transportation fees paid.
  • Co-Curricular Code and Contract read and signed.
  • ASB card purchased (recommended)
  • No athlete may drop one sport and become involved in another without the mutual consent of both coaches.

Participation in Co-Curricular Activities

In order to participate in any athletic or school activity, a student must have attended school four (4) periods that day. Remember this rule applies to dances, proms, participation in drama and/or music productions, as well as athletics. Students must also maintain a 2.0 GPA and adhere to the co-curricular contract.

Co-Curricular Code & Contract

Participation in co-curricular activities is a privilege, not a basic right of all students. The school has the authority to revoke this privilege. Certain rules have been established for all students who become involved in the co-curricular program. The Co-Curricular Code & Contract sets these expectations that include - but are not limited to - grade point eligibility, behavior, and attendance. The Co-Curricular Code & Contract policy of the Conejo Valley Unified School District states that any student violating school rules which results in suspension (including In-House Suspension) faces up to one calendar year removal from further participation in the co-curricular/athletic program.

The principal has the right to review each case on an individual basis taking into consideration the student’s previous disciplinary record, academic achievement, and attendance. Students who are suspended and removed from an activity have the right to appeal to the principal. If probation is granted to continue participation, in addition to refraining from any activity that would result in suspension, the student may be required to perform a designated number of hours of community service, school service and/or attend substance abuse meetings.

  • Hours of service shall be determined by the number of days suspended (1 Day Suspension = 8 hours of service) At least half of the service hours must be completed at Westlake High School.
  • Students should be aware that an appeal to continue participation in the co-curricular/athletic program will be granted only one time during their high school career.

Dear Warrior Soccer Families:

We’ve held a number of fundraisers this year and would like to thank you all for your participation! It’s hard to believe the season is quickly coming to an end, and with that in mind we ask that each player’s family consider supporting the Westlake Warrior 2009 -2010 Soccer Yearbook.

This book is a new addition for our program, and if supported properly can become an annual item for us.  Along with the various squad and individual pictures, we plan on having plenty of photos of the boys and girls at practice, scrimmages and games.  We would like it to be not only informational but to be cherished as a keepsake for every Warrior soccer player.

The Yearbook is not a fundraiser.  Ads and dedication pages in the book simply cover the costs of printing and production.  The more ads we sell, the more pages we can devote to images of the players and the bigger and better the book will be!

Prices for ads/ dedication full color pages are as follows:
Eighth Page, (Business Card Sized) $25
Quarter Page $40
Half Page $75
Full Page $150

Also we have the Back Cover at $300, and Inside Front and Inside Back Covers available at $200 each.
Please consider a contribution toward the ad placements in the yearbook, whether by your own business or businesses your frequent – hard stylist to foot doctor – or a dedication from parents or other family well-wishers.

Ads will be printed in color and should be submitted in electronic format, via email.   Camera-ready artwork or high quality printed material that can be scanned will be accepted if in good condition – no smudges, staples or wrinkles, as these imperfections will show up on the scanned version.

Make certain that you have a Yearbook Ad / Dedication Registration Form (attached) filled out for each one of the ads you sell and that all information is completed and legible so that we can contact the purchaser if necessary.  Make as many copies as you need and turn in the completed form with each ad and check you collect.

Our Federal Tax Identification Number is: 26-3473029

DEADLINE FOR PLACEMENT IN THE YEARBOOK IS FEBRUARY 19, 2010

If you have any questions, call or email Brian Duffy at:  (805) 405-7271 or bduffy12@yahoo.com  or hard copies can be forwarded to Sarah Duffy on the JV Team as well.
